First Day of Spring: DIY Flower Arrangements

Domestic Funtivities

Today, March 20th, is the official first day of Spring! Therefore, today's post is dedicated to flowers. If a bouquet of gorgeous Spring flowers doesn't make you uncontrollably happy, then consider seeking some counseling...
The following flower arrangements are not only beautiful, but they are DIY (do-it-yourself). So whip out your hammer, nails, and crazy glue and let the flower arranging begin...

Standing Mason Jar Arrangements
I think flowers look adorable in mason jars. It is so simple: buy a few glass mason jars, fill them with water/marbles/stones/etc., and arrange your flowers.

Hanging Mason Jar Arrangements
Simply take your mason jar vases and hook a chain around the rim to hang the mason jar...it's very cute if hung on a fence or porch.

Rustic Mason Jar Sconce
This sconce is much easier to make than it looks. All you need is a mason jar, a heavy strap of leather, a square of rustic/reclaimed wood, and some hammer and nails.
On the Shelterness blog, their sconce measures 7x7 inches and has a ring-type hanger on the back. Use a felt pad to protect your wall, pour some water into the jar, and put your favorite flowers in. Voila!

Small Wood Log Flower Vase
This vase is also a bit more rustic, but I love it. All you need is a small wood log. The idea is to drill a hole in the wood log with a spade bit that can accommodate a small bottle or jar. You can sand the log if you'd like or even stain it.

Nautical Rope Vase
The nautical look with some blooming hydrangeas is perfect for the summer. All you need is a vase, rope, a glue gun, and a heavy clip. Add hot glue to the inside of the rope and wrap your vase from the bottom up. Use the heavy clip to secure the rope while the glue dries. Cut the rope and add some flowers!

The Bowl of Flowers
This "arrangement" is simple and most ideal for decoration or centerpieces at a dinner party...bowl, water, flowers - it's as easy as 1, 2, 3...
