Warm Weather Cocktails: NYC

Big Apple Bites

Eagerly awaiting the first day of spring this Wednesday, March 20th, I'm getting into the warm-weather-spirit by embarking on a new mission: finding the best spring/summer cocktails in New York City. With my mom and close friend, Susan, in town this past weekend, we ate, drank, and shopped our way through the city and found two amazing cocktails that were worth every sip.
Mom and Susan visit the city!

First up we have the Green Variety Margarita from The Wayland in the Lower East Side...
Blue agave blanco tequila, fresh ginger & kale juice, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, and smokey sea salt on the rim

Originally created as a cold remedy by owner-mixologist Jason Mendenhall, the Green Variety Margarita quickly became the most popular drink on the menu, let alone one of the most famous cocktails in the city. The thought of kale juice in a margarita may scare you, but this drink is so perfect, so refreshing, and so deliciously sweet yet balanced with the smokey sea salt. Go try this unique margarita ASAP.

Next we have the Seraphina from Catch NYC...
Ginger-infused gin, fresh watermelon juice, fresh lime juice, and agave nectar

If this cocktail doesn't scream summer then I don't know what does. I watched the bartender make this drink (and took some metal notes) and he used the freshest of fresh ingredients. The watermelon juice was essentially scooped out of a melon and crushed into my glass. Go to Catch NYC for a great cocktail and a great meal.
